A ruler is a measuring tool first and a souvenir second — the scale has to be right before the artwork matters. We print acrylic rulers in three builds: 2 mm standard stock, a 4 mm sheet with a polished bevelled edge, and 2 mm stock under an epoxy dome.

WHAT IT'S FOR

Start from what the ruler has to do.

The build follows the job: a giveaway, a souvenir, a stationery object and a shaped novelty are four different rulers. Each row is a starting point we quote from — if yours isn't here, describe it in the enquiry.

A city or venue souvenir

Print the landmark, the route or the building along the ruler, straight or die-cut to a shape. The scale stays usable, which is what separates a souvenir ruler from a bookmark.

A school, campus or office giveaway

15 cm on 2 mm stock is the lightest build and the cheapest to ship; one or two print colours carry a logo and a line of text.

A stationery object, not a giveaway

20 cm on 4 mm stock with a polished bevel reads as an object worth keeping — it pairs with notepads and bookmarks in the same set.

A shaped outline — a mascot, a cat, a logo

Die-cut to your outline on 2 mm stock, with or without the epoxy dome. Thin tails and whiskers are checked at final size before cutting.

A tool that survives a bag

Acrylic does not bend like card. The 4 mm build resists flexing; the 2 mm build is lighter. Tell us how it will be carried and we'll say which one holds up.

SPECIFICATION

Everything we can tell you about this product.

Rows read two ways. Figures stated plainly are standard for how we produce this product. Items marked “Confirmed with your quote” depend on your artwork, quantity or destination — they're fixed in the written spec sheet, not guessed here.

Material	Cast acrylic (PMMA). Clear as standard; coloured and frosted stock on request.
Thickness	2 mm standard. 4 mm on the bevelled-edge build. 2 mm plus epoxy dome on the domed build.
Size	15 cm and 20 cm are the standard lengths; other lengths are quoted.
Scale	Metric (cm / mm) printed along one edge as standard. Other scales on request — the printed scale is checked at 1:1 on your proof.
Print	UV print, full colour, one face.
Shape	Straight strip as standard, or die-cut to your outline — a logo, a mascot, a character.
Edge	Polished bevel on the 4 mm build; flat polished edge on 2 mm stock.
Finish	Gloss as standard. Epoxy dome on the 2 mm domed build; matte on request.
Packaging	Individual OPP bag as standard. Paper sleeve or backing card on request.
MOQ	No fixed MOQ — we quote the quantity you need.
Confirmation	Physical sample, digital proof, run photos or first article — agreed with your quote. The proof shows the scale at 1:1.
Lead time	Confirmed with your quote
Artwork files	AI, PSD, PDF, PNG or SVG. Vector preferred, 300 dpi at final size. Around 3 mm of bleed, with text kept clear of the cut line — your written spec sheet confirms the exact figures for your order.

The choices that change the price.

Three builds, three jobs

2 mm printed is the standard giveaway ruler. 4 mm with a polished bevel is the one people keep. 2 mm plus epoxy gives a glassy surface and stiffens a shaped outline — it also softens fine detail.

The scale is a spec, not artwork

A ruler that measures 99 mm to the 100 mm mark fails as a tool. Check the proof at 1:1 against a real ruler before the run — the printed scale is confirmed on your proof, not assumed from the file.

Straight or shaped

Straight strips cut cleanly and ship flat. Shaped outlines (mascots, cats, logos) work on 2 mm stock; thin tails and narrow gaps are the parts to thicken before cutting.

A NOTE ON SPECIFYING THIS PRODUCT

Rulers get ordered as merch and judged as tools. The two failure modes are the scale and the edge: a printed scale that's short over 15 cm is a reject, and a sharp, unpolished edge is what makes a cheap ruler feel cheap. Both are decided before printing — measure the proof at 1:1 and specify the edge.
